About the Artist

Pamela A. Lee is a Colorado native.  She started drawing horses at age five and has been selling art as long as she can remember.

She majored in studio art in college, and after working both as a free-lance artist and a Senior Pharmacy Technician in hospital pharmacy for thirty-three years, she is now an artist full-time.

She started sculpting in 3D in wool and natural fabrics in 2018, and in less than 2 years has mastered needle and wet felting techniques.  She often uses both techniques in a single piece, with the addition of polymer for mixed media pieces.

She loves to sculpt both realism and fantasy and sometimes a combination of both to make a person or animal her own creation.  sometimes she sets out to begin an equine piece and it ends up being something quite different.

She does do commissioned pieces and enjoys working with the buyer to create a special visualization of a pet or a purpose.  Her work has been sold around the world, has been juried into shows, won awards, and loved by many.

She constantly strives to improve her techniques, and hopes that part of her art never gets old.

Pet Portrait Commissions

You’ve found my new blog on my new website!  This post is about commissioning your pet’s portrait from me.  I do them because I enjoy giving a tribute to those special companions that are gone or will soon be gone.  It’s unfortunate that we don’t have them with us very long as it is.

My portraits are done in wool felt using the needle method, usually over a wire armature.  Most have glass eyes that are created by me.  Some will have noses or claws in polymer or wool, depending on what I feel gives the best likeness.  Work is normally completed in a few weeks unless I’m severely booked.  Most will have dimensions of 8 x 9 x 3 – depending on what kind of animal and type. Standing, sitting or lying down.

I require good clear photos of all sides and markings to do a well made piece.  the colors I see in your pictures will dictate the colors of wool I choose, so they need to be in good lighting that shows the best color of the pet.

prices for 2020 start at 275$ and up depending on difficulty or changes as desired by the buyer, to be discussed and agreed upon.  shipping charges will be calculated by your zip code.   International shipping quotes can be given on request.

The work must be paid for in advance, as your pet is only special to you.  I cannot sell it to someone else.  The quality of my work speaks for itself.  My goal is to make a quality portrait of your pet.   I have had many happy customers over the years.  I do not disappoint
